Profile Summary

He is Professor of Computer Engineering at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he has been teaching since 1980. He is recognized by Scholar-GPS World Analytics 2026 Lifetime Assessment as Highly Ranked Scholar, and as  World No. 5 in Network Management. He received his education in Syria and the United Kingdom and earned his PhD from the University of Aston in Birmingham. He also became Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) whose legacy continues today through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). His work evolved along two complementary dimensions: computer networks dimension and the knowledge society dimension.
